ATTENTIONNNNNNNNNN!!!! Global Warming!!!!!

GLOBAL WARMING

The world's climate scientists today reported unequivocally that the Earth's climate system is increasingly heating up and that it likely has not been this warm for at least 1300 years. The fourth report of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says that evidence for this includes more than increases in global average air and ocean temperatures.
As has been reported on this site, heating effects are strong in melting of snow and ice, rising global mean sea level, widespread changes in precipitation amounts, ocean salinity, wind patterns and aspects of extreme weather including droughts, heavy precipitation, heat waves and the intensity of tropical cyclones.

With much stronger language and more assurance than in previous reports, the IPCC members said there was less than 10 percent chance that this global warming was natural -- they pinned it directly on human greenhouse gas emissions. The amount of CO2 spewed out per year from fossil fuel burning is 12 percent greater now than in the 1990s, their report indicated, and the amount of the greenhouse effect is the greatest in 10,000 years.

The scientists reported, the last time the Arctic was significantly warmer was about 125,000 years ago, before the last ice age. At that time, sea level rose 4 to 6 meters as polar ice melted. For this coming century the IPCC is forecasting sea level to rise from 7 inches to about half a meter, depending on emissions and warming. The scientists expressed uncertainty about rapid melting of the Greenland ice cap, citing a lack of enough research so far; this is sure to be one of the more controversial parts of the report since some glaciologists think Greenland will add considerably more to sea level.

Scientists said "it is very likely that hot extremes, heat waves, and heavy precipitation events will continue to become more frequent," that it was very certain that the ocean would become more acid from taking up more CO2 and that the great currents in the North Atlantic were likely to slow but not stop.

The IPCC will report in more detail later this year on changes to the natural world, and on mitigation and adaptation strategies to reduce the impact of climate change.

Ecuador " A wonderful country"

Ecuador is a wonderful country, count with 23 provinces – divided into 4 basic regions - you’ll find tropical islands, towering snowcapped peaks, extensive paramos, sandy beaches, and simmering jungle.

The geographical diversity of Ecuador means that there are a number of different climates and microclimates in the country’s four regions. Temperatures vary according to elevation and the location of the cities and towns.

Ecologically,Ecuador is one of the richest countries on the planet. The amazing biodiversity throughout the nation's various regions means that there are thousands of unique species of flora and fauna in Ecuador.

Rich in biodiversity, Ecuador's natural attractions are endless from the depths of the Amazon to the peaks of the Andes, not to mention the unforgettable Galapagos Islands. Nature abounds in Ecuador protected by a system of national parks and reserves.

Several different indigenous nationalities continue to live their traditional lifestyles in rural villages and towns throughout the nation. In the cities, you find mainly mestizos, African Ecuadorians, and whites.

Rich in natural resources with a well-developed industrial, Ecuador exports products to countries all over the world, facilitated by trading agreements and partnerships with countries worldwide. Modern with a well-developed tourist infrastructures, the nation’s larger cities offer all the services you might need.

Global warming is a problem which is affecting the entire world; however, people don’t realize the problems that Global warming can provoke in the human population. It is becoming to be a real thereat for the world. Earth’s temperature has been changing since the past century, but it has accelerated during the past two decades. This change of temperature is named Global warming. Global warming is affecting human life, for that reason, it is very important that people know What it is? how it's caused? and what needs to be done to stop it? Some consequences of Global warming already has been observed into some alterations in world, such as: temperatures have been at a record high for a decade, coastal shorelines have retreated, island nations are losing habitable land and glaciers are melting on five continents. I consider indispesable that people get knowledge about Global warming, so they can help to prevent some Global warming’s dangers, and people could begin to be part of a solution to problem.

Humans live the resource of dead organic matter, and humans have found dead organic matter below ground, in the form of oil, gas and coal which exist as result of the fossil remains of plants that lived long ago. However, at moment, population increase dramatically, for a short time, inevitably the resources dwindles and the population collapses. Precisely, it has succeeded in the world. Fossil energy has propelled the development of the industrial age and allowed population to explode. So, as product of the industrial age has produced in the atmosphere over increase of carbon dioxide (CO2) which is threatening to destroy the world. The atmosphere provides us oxygen to breathe and it controls the heat balance of the world, too. However, now the atmosphere is relativity small in mass compared whit the ocean, so it provokes that changes induced by humans can affect dramatically to the atmosphere.

Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. And, it has basically been provoked by increase of amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other gases. Global warming is a problem which is attributable to human activities. Carbon dioxide and other gases that contaminate the air accumulate in the atmosphere, forming a thickening blanket which traps the sun’s heat and provokes global warming.

This climatic change would provoke worse consequences for sever million human who live in poverty or are bordering on it. Poverty is the source of pollution, but it is also generated by a world in which human beings are insistent on maintaining their lavish lifestyles.

Cuenca City

In Cuenca, it's easy to forget you live in the 21st century. The city's cobblestone streets, towering cathedrals, and marble and whitewashed buildings give it a colonial air unequaled in Ecuador. Cuencanos, known for their traditional demeanor and conservative cultural values, match their 18th century surroundings and continue a proud intellectual tradition that has produced more notable writers, poets, artists, and philosophers than anywhere else in Ecuador. In addition to being the cultural Mecca of Ecuador, Cuenca is the capital of the Azuay province, the third largest city in the nation, and the economic center of the southern Sierra. These distinctions, along with the city's incredibly preserved history, recently earned Cuenca the honor of being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Trust site.Like the rest of the Ecuadorian Andes, Cuenca enjoys a mild climate year-round. Days are generally warm and nights are cool enough that you should pack a sweater. The average daily temperature is 14.6 C. The rainy season is the same as Quito's and generally lasts from mid-October until early May. During this time, mornings are typically sunny and afternoons cloudy with light, periodic showers

We are the lucky few

We are used to electricity, water, public services, safeness, studies and freedom. We think that this is the common way of living but most of the people in the world doesn’t know what these thing means. Half of the world inhabitants live with less than two dollars per day.
We assume that the most normal thing is to eat three meals at day but 852 millions of people can’t afford this “luxuries”.

We know violence exist, and we don’t walk lone in the middle of the night. However, in other countries violence chase families inside their houses, their neighborhoods and their jobs.
What can be more common than a phone call? A third part of people in our planet has never made one.

Our daily “common” life it’s a complete luxury in relation with the world’s extreme poverty. We simply can’t imagine ourselves without one or two cell phones, everyone has one! But only the quarter part of Ecuadorian population has one.
We are not normal common people; we are the minority part of population who can afford electricity, water, food, jobs and other not normal things.

Three weeks on the road in Argentina. So many images, experiences, feelings and memories. Buenos Aires seems quite European, though the old Mercedes busses, brightly painted and chromed, have long since disappeared from western Europe. I am here to work with percussionist Diego Chamy and trumpeter Leonel Kaplan, undoubtedly the finest free improvisers in Argentina. We perform in quartet with a young Buhto dancer in a resonant but quite pleasant theater. The hall is full, the audience responsive. It has been six months since we played together, so we are all eager to discover what’s new, how each of us has grown and changed, where the music will go. The answers are not long in coming; the music has matured. Sparer, sonically, it has become denser emotionally. Confidence in ourselves and each other allows greater risk, more generous use of silence and even more nuance.
This picture was on our best presentation in Salta, Argentina. Salta has a wonderful crowd, firtable because the culture moves this city, and every ones likes our music. We got some good propousals for recording a compact disc there, we will acept this invitation after our trip, so in one year aproximately you will accend on the stores to our new cd called "milkman's lovers"
deportvio cuenca!
"El CuencA" is the official team of my city.
Is the only team from this town that plays in first division.
Deportivo Cuenca won the national championship ship on 2004 once. But it never didn't again.
Deportivo Cuenca had been played against big teams like "Boca Juniors" in "Copa Libertadores" championship. The best competiton about football clubs in America.
Cuenca has the best fans that any club in Ecuador.
